Niche Market

So you have heard there is money to be made online with niche marketing? Well, that is certainly true if you can find a niche market. Wikipedia defines a niche market as a subset of the market on which a specific product is focusing. This doesn’t really tell us a lot. I would define it as this – A niche market is a problem that a reasonable number of people have who are more than willing to spend money on to have it solved for them. If you can educate people how to solve their problem you can make money.

An example could be when people have trouble with their computer and lose important data.  People usually want this kind of problem solved quickly and will pay a lot of money to get help. I know that online advertisers are paying up to $25 a click with Google adwords for the keyword “data recovery” to generate leads. This is a excellent example of a profitable niche market.

There are plenty of niches out there. What you want to make sure you do is find a profitable niche. This involve niche research, keyword research, competitive analysis and patience. Finding and researching a niche online has been made easy thanks to a number of niche marketing tools and software. An example is niche finder – a tool that takes away all the guesswork and helps you find niche keywords and their money making potential. You don’t need to buy software to do the research, but it will save you lots of hours and educate you on how to make money online.

Once you find a market you need to work out how competitive it is. In the Internet Marketing game competition is a good thing. If there are competitors you know are making money in your niche then you know you are on the right track. What you must work out is whether or not you can match or beat their online marketing. If you can, then great. If you can’t, no problem. You can join them and make money as affiliate – affiliate niche marketing.

So niche marketing is all about finding problems, making sure there is healthy competition and working out how you can share a piece of the niche pie. Of course there is more to it than just that, but that is it in a nutshell. Making money online involves lots of work and learning. You will have setbacks and frustrations, but if you see it as a business rather than a fast and easy way to make money you’ll find success.
