My Three Favorite Blogs

I love blogs. I love the idea that anyone can start a blog and share their thoughts, passions and  dreams. I love how readers can leave comments and join in on the conversation. In ten short years blogs have had a amazing impact on the world.  Blogs give everyone the opportunity to share, learn, debate, break news and influence opinion. They have given power to the people and made the world more open and honest. Here are  three blogs I would like to share with you:

Zenhabits

ZenHabits: As a practising Buddhist I am heavily into Zen. I like to think of Zenhabits as Buddha’s blog . This blog looks and speaks Zen. It is very refreshing to visit a site that has no advertising banners, no offers, no opt-in forum, but only post after post of zen wisdom that you can immediately applie to your life. The creator and writer, Leo Babauta, helps over 210,00 readers find simplicity in the daily chaos of living. If you want a practical guide to finding happiness then start reading this blog. In 2010 TIME included ZenHabits as one of 25 blogs we can’t live without. Amazingly, all content on Zenhabits is uncopyrighted granting full permission to anyone  to use any of the content on ZenHabits in any way they like.

Leo writes one or two powerful articles a week sharing his thoughts and experiences on simplicity, health & fitness, motivation and inspiration, frugality, family life, happiness, goals, getting great things done, and living in the moment. Every post is worth reading and you will find yourself pondering on the wisdom Leo bestows. If I could only read one blog, then this would be it.

Check out the post The Illusion of Control. It is one of my favorite posts.

social media examiner

Social Media Examiner: Now that I have fully embraced social media this the only blog I read on the subject. I love the design and the fun vibe of this magazine blog. Above all, it is he content that makes visiting this site a daily ritual for me. I don’t want to miss a single post. I would happily pay for the quality content  this site churns out.

This blog features lots of how to articles, case studies, videos and reviews fom 50 social media experts who regulary contribute a goldmine of practical and engaging content.  I am learning so much from this blog. And, I am pretty sure it is saving me hundreds, if not thousands of dollars I would otherwise spend on courses and seminars to learn the ins and outs of social media.

Do yourself a favour and purchase the book Launch by  Mike Stelzner to discover how SocialMediaExaminer.com become one of the world’s top two social media blogs in the space of 24 hours.

Entrepreneurs Journey

Entrepreneurs Journey: This is the blog that inspired me to create this blog. Yaro Starak, the blog’s creator, also inspired me to create the “Internet Marketers of Integrity” category of my blog.  And Yaro is certainly that. He is one of the most honest and transparent bloggers you could come accross.

Yaro started this blog in 2005 and it has certainly been a pleasure to see how it has evolved into one of the most inspiring and insightful blogs on the subject of making a living by blogging.  What I enjoy most about his blog is listening to his collection of audio interviews and podcasts.  Yaro certainly has a talent for explaining marketing concepts, whether it is the written word or in conversation. There no hype, manipulation or BS. Just integrity. And lots of it.

Recently, Yaro announced that he would be changing his blog to a magazine format. He currently has a number of columnists already writing for him.  I tend to favor the blog post he writes, but I am looking forward to how his blog will evlove and what I can learn from its growth. If you want to create an engaging blog in the Internet marketing niche, then model your blog on Entrepreneurs Journey.
